Nantes, September 2026, Polysoude announces a major extension of its Nantes production site, opened in 1961, to meet accelerating global demand across its key markets.
Demand is intensifying across all of the company’s strategic sectors: energy, nuclear, defence, high technology, particularly with the revival of the EPR 2 nuclear programme. To meet this demand, Polysoude is launching an extension project for its historic site.
A large-scale industrial project
This extension comprises:
- 2,600 m² of additional space, including 2,000 m² of industrial floor space benefiting from increased assembly height for the manufacture of bespoke equipment
- 600 m² of modernised social facilities for staff
- Around twenty qualified recruitments in Nantes
A matter of industrial sovereignty
This capacity increase places the Nantes site at the heart of mechanising TIG welding for the construction of future EPR 2 power plants, an issue that is both industrial and one of sovereignty for the French energy sector.
Since 1961, TIG welding equipment designed in Nantes has been fitted to industrial projects around the world. This extension opens the next chapter of that story.
